Gerald
Mahoney, Executive Partner |
Mr. Mahoney spent much of his
30-year career managing consumer and industrial
companies. He began his career with Arthur
Andersen, serving as a Manager in the New
York office where he directed audit examinations.
From 1973 to 1983, Mr. Mahoney advanced through
positions of increasing responsibility at Bairnco
Corporation, ultimately serving as President
of the Crescent Lighting
Division, which manufactured commercial
and residential lighting fixtures.
From 1984 to 1987, Mr. Mahoney
was Senior Vice President of Polychrome
Corporation, a manufacturer of lithographic
plates, film, ink and equipment for printers.
While at Polychrome, he negotiated the purchase
of a $600 million acquisition, managing all aspects
of the tender offer and raising the necessary
financing. In 1987 he joined Transkrit
Corporation, serving as President of a
$90 million printer of business forms and labels.
From 1991 to 2001, Mr. Mahoney served as Founder,
Chairman and CEO of Mail-Well,
Inc., which he built into the third largest
printer in North America. Mr. Mahoney built sales
from $16 million to $2.4 billion through acquisitions
and internal growth. The company went public in
1995, with subsequent acquisitions being financed
through a combination of cash flow, stock and
bond sales, and bank loans. Under Mr. Mahoney's
leadership, Mail-Well's commercial printing business
became the largest in North America, its envelope
manufacturing business grew to be the largest
in the world, and the label business became the
second largest in North America.
Mr. Mahoney holds
a Master of Science degree from Northeastern University,
and Bachelor of Arts from Adelphi University.
Mr. Mahoney is currently chairman of International
Filing Company.
