Emigrant Savings Bank | http://www.emigrant.com
Emigrant Savings Bank, founded
in 1850, is the oldest savings bank in New York
City operating under its original name. The Bank
was established by immigrants for immigrants.
Emigrant has a long and rich history with the
City. In its early years, the Bank was responsible
for financially supporting various citywide projects
ranging from the construction of St. Patrick's
Cathedral to the development of Central Park.
Today, Emigrant continues to show its financial
support and corporate commitment to the communities
we serve. Through our recent initiative, Building
the Future One Life at a Time, we have touched
the lives of over 40,000 children in the Greater
New York area, through mentoring programs, e-learning,
and remedial support, books and publications,
and school supplies.
With assets of nearly $9.6 billion,
Emigrant has grown to be one of the leading retail
financial institutions in the New York metropolitan
area, servicing the needs of our customers with
36 branches throughout Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn,
Bronx, Long Island and Westchester. Other core
businesses include various lending subsidiaries
that cover residential mortgages, mixed use, multi-family
and commercial real estate.
