Trust and stability,
with a touch of the entrepreneurial spirit.

Emigrant Capital is the private investment division of Emigrant Bank, the nation’s largest family-owned and operated bank. We invest directly from the bank's balance sheet, bringing broad financial capabilities, operational expertise, and longstanding industry relationships.

A Different Type of Equity Partner

Long-Term Patient Capital

We are part of a multi-generational family business and work with management teams to develop strategies based on companies’ long-term goals, rather than being driven by arbitrary timelines and fundraising cycles.

Flexible Investment Structures

We have the ability to tailor our financing solutions to each unique situation. We make both non-control and majority investments, and can provide capital in the form of debt, equity and hybrid securities.

Focus On Growth

Our goal is to help superior companies and management teams realize their full potential. We take a conservative approach when incorporating third-party debt, allowing management to focus on growth.

True Partnership

We believe equity partners should add value beyond just capital. We help companies achieve their operational and growth objectives, providing assistance with strategic planning, optimizing operations, and leading the development and execution of acquisition plans.

We invest between $5 million and $30 million in businesses generating between $2 million and $15 million in EBITDA.

Our History Defines Who We Are

Emigrant has a long history of supporting the community, from financing the establishment of Central Park to aiding the recoveries following 9/11 and Hurricane Sandy. This commitment to community and the customers we serve has enabled the Bank to expand its operations, establish trust, and build its reputation as a sound and responsible financial institution.

Core Values

Our motto is “Family to Family”. We believe good partnerships are built on honest communication and fair dealing. These values have been built over many generations by both Emigrant Bank and the Milstein family.

Emigrant Savings Bank

Emigrant Bank was established in 1850 and has been a trusted New York City institution for almost two centuries.
